Islamabad: As per the trusted sources, Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert considering the weather forecast news. The alert highlights the possibility of floods, and heavy rains, alongside hailstorms in different cities of the Punjab province. The areas that come in the list of alert include Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and Kasur.

The notice from PDMA draws attention to the coming flood disasters amidst the winter rainfalls. Most probably, Multan, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Layyah, Rajanpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan receive moderate rain and thunderstorms between February 18th and 19th. The District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) have received advice from the PDMA to be ready and take the appropriate precautions to lower the risks.
Moreover, people visiting northern areas have been cautioned about the risks of flooding and landslides, if there is any emergency, they should go with proper planning and arrangement. Furthermore, mentioning the advice of PDMA, tourists are advised to contact local administration, police, and rescue services for guidance and assistance in case of any emergency.
Coming to the weather forecast, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has anticipated moderate to heavy rainfall in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Islamabad, and Balochistan. The NDMA has alerted people about the risk of road closures in several areas of the country as there are news about heavy snowfall from February 18 to 20. Upper KP, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan are predicted to be at risk of landslides during this time.
