GENERAL ELECTIONS 2024

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared an official date for the upcoming general election 2024 which is 8th February 2024. Considering this, ECP has announced an official holiday so that citizens can participate. From February 6th to February 9th, Punjab's public and private sector schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed.

The Election Commission and the Punjab Provincial Cabinet's concerted efforts highlight how crucial it is to establish a setting that encourages democratic engagement and the freedom of the right to vote. The country is about to get its electoral government in just a few days and all eyes are on the constituency to aptly use their political right and contribute to Pakistan's democratic structure.

Moreover, the political tension in Pakistan is increasing, reflecting an atmosphere of concern and uncertainty. Ever since the murder of one independent candidate and the sudden deaths of candidates in the other two constituencies, ECP has decided to postpone the election campaign in NA-8 Bajaur. Nevertheless, elections in the other 85 constituencies will be held as per schedule.
