Sector I-15 Islamabad is located at a prime location of the Capital city of Islamabad adjacent to IJP Road and right in front of Shaikupur. The sector consists of residential cum commercial properties. The society comprises four sub-sectors I-15/1, I-15/2, I-15/3, and I-15/4. Due to the I-15 Sector’s proximity to both Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the sector is one of the areas that comes under affordable rates.
Let's explore more about I-15 Sector Islamabad:
I sectors were essentially designed to provide affordable housing, however they were put on hold for a long time. Following the capital’s increasing housing demand, sector I-15 development was decided upon in February 2000. In 2005, Sector I-15 was created specifically for low-income residents. It comprises 10,290 plots, and the CDA owns all of the land in the sector. There were low rates of land with necessary amenities.
I-15 sector was officially initiated by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani. Initially, the general public was offered 8,000 flats and 5,600 residential plots spanning 5 and 8 marlas. But, because of a change in design and cost escalation, the CDA adopted a policy to either refund the sum paid to the allottees or assign residential plots in place of apartments in sector I-15. About 4000 of the allottees received their money back from CDA, and the remaining 4000 received residential plots measuring 5 marla in place of their apartments. Authority completely redesigned Sector I-15's infrastructure, structural plans, and plan for each of the plot categories.
To resolve the issues faced by individuals who received plots and were confined to Sector I-15 for ten years, the infrastructure development work was given priority by the current management of CDA. As a result, CDA-DWP authorized the PC-I totaling Rs. 5656.24 million for the infrastructure development work in Sector I-15.
However, despite the plots being assigned, nothing has been done in the I-15 sectors in almost twenty years. The current CDA management is following its policy to begin development in the sectors that have reached a standstill and experiencing an impasse.
Development in I-15/2 is in progress. Development in I-15/1 , I-15/3 and I-15/4 is almost complete and CDA has announced possession of plots. But, not all plots in I-15/1 , I-15/3 and I-15/4 are ready for possession.
Investment in I-15 Islamabad should be done after reviewing the whole sector and the ups and downs of property rates as well as CDA’s progress in the region. Since the development work has been going on for many years and there are still no satisfying results, one must consider all the aspects before investing in the I-15 sector in Islamabad.
